FUNDRAISING AND DONATION DRIVES
Thank you for stopping here on our fundraising and donation page!
We are a volunteer ran grassroots organization to fight to save and advance our democracy here in southern rural Ohio, our entire state and country against the presidential fascist regime. All of our funds come from people like you. To keep movements and organizations going, they rely on volunteers as well as the donations and fundraising efforts of us, the people. Without you, we wouldn't be able to keep our group going so thank you. Help us continue our fight by donating to our Act Blue account to raise money for our website fees, our protests and events, marketing supplies and informative distribution, our booths and parades and more. Your support is extremely appreciated. Every dollar truly counts.

COMMUNITY GARDEN AND UPCOMING KID'S GARDENING CLASSES
We have started a community garden to add fresh foods to our Appalachian Edge Free Market. We have been tilling, planting, pulling weeds and much more the last few months to ensure foods coming in to give to our community. We will be harvesting from Late August to November. Volunteers are always welcome and appreciated! There is a lot to do and lot to keep up with and we'd love for you to join our efforts. For updates on the garden you can find them here under the photo album or you can follow our facebook page Appalachian Edge Community.
What We Need Help With:
Pulling weeds
Put up fencing
Water irrigation system
Build a wooden structure for vine veggies
Painted wooden tags
Finish the pond
Dig out a dry creek and lay smooth round rocks in it
Plant flowers and deterant plants
(and more)
We also have a list below of things we are seeking or looking for donations for our community garden. If you have any of the items and would be willing to part with them or allow us to borrow (the items that can be borrowed) we would be truly grateful! If you'd like to help us with these efforts financially, you can do so at the top of this page.
A mutual aid committee is being formed for all of the efforts we are organizing and accomplishing. Even if it's just to pull some weeds for 30 minutes, your time and work are appreciated nonetheless! Our garden isn't only to help sustain our community but also to help our environments and doing what we can to protect it. If you would like to start composting we will be announcing a compost drop off for the community and we will use the compost to sustain our garden and give it the nutrients it needs. Did you know that plastic is what takes up the majority of our landfills and the trash we see in our fields and on the sides of our roads? How much do you pay for for your trash service and how much trash does your family accumulate within a week? We have another way to reduce your waste while also helping our garden and one of the upcoming workshops this late Summer, early Fall. Have you ever heard of eco-bricks? Instead of trashing your juice bottles, fill them up with all the plastics you use throughout the day and when you fill a few bring them on to us and we will use them to build a structure in the garden. Within 2 months we have 12 eco-bricks ready to go just in our one household of 3. To learn more about composting and eco-bricks, see the graphics we have below.
Upcoming activities: End of July we will be ready to begin our bi-weekly gardening class for kids and their families. In the Fall we hope to have some workshops to teach folks how to can, how to preserve foods and get through the Winter prepared.
WHAT'S GROWING IN THE GARDEN?
First picture is the plot that I did the three sisters but instead of squash, I put in luffas. So corn, beans and luffas plus sunflowers because it’s a good pest deterrent and companion.
Tomatoes are rising and I need to put string up and around for them and the cucumbers and zucchini. The nasturtiums are doing amazingly. We’ve got some big carrots in the bed! However the peppers seem to be paused at the moment for some reason. Broccoli, cauliflower, dill, more kale, Brussels sprouts and sage are in the ground.
6/21
The corn, luffas, beans and sunflowers are starting to get tall! Tomatoe plants are hugeeeee and tomatoes are starting to grow but I think I may have put those too close together along next to the cucumbers and zucchini.
